Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This policy explains what Focus Grove (the Chrome extension, "the app") collects, why, and what you can do about it. The app is operated by StephanGames ("we"), based in South Africa. Questions: stephanoberholzer1@gmail.com.
What we collect
If you sign in with Google, we store:
- Your Google account identifier and email address. We use them to recognise your account. We receive no other Google data (no contacts, Drive, Gmail or similar). The permissions we request are "openid", "email" and "profile".
- Your game data: your garden, coins, seeds, produce, themes, settings, high scores and a log of changes to coins and seeds, which lets the server keep rewards fair.
- The list of sites you chose to block during quiet blocks.
- Your time-zone offset (a number such as +2 hours), so "today" rolls over at your local midnight.
- Purchase status: whether your account has Supporter, and the order reference from Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your card details.
If you do not sign in, the game runs only on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
What we do not collect
- We do not read, record or send your browsing history, page contents or the sites you visit. The app asks for broad site access only so that the block list you set up can be applied. Matching happens inside your browser.
- We do not sell your data, show ads or use trackers or analytics.
Where it is stored and who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts the app's server and database. It also sees connection details (such as IP address) when you use the app, as any host does.
- Google handles sign-in.
- Lemon Squeezy sells Supporter as our merchant of record and handles payment, receipts and sales tax under its own privacy policy.
These providers may process data outside South Africa.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Short-lived technical records (such as sign-in sessions and unfinished game runs) are deleted automatically within days or weeks.
Deleting your data
Open the app, go to the Supporter tab and choose Delete account. That removes your sign-in identity (including your email), garden, game log and sessions from our systems. We keep only an anonymous record that a purchase was made, because tax and refund rules require it; it can no longer be linked to your email. You can also email us and we will delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion at any time. This follows South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where they apply to you, similar laws such as the GDPR. Email stephanoberholzer1@gmail.com.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
